One of the best ways to stay informed, is to follow us on our social media pages.

The City of Laurens regularly monitors its social media accounts but cannot guarantee immediate responses to comments or messages. While City staff strive to respond to inquiries as promptly as possible during regular business hours, social media should not be used to report emergencies, crimes in progress, or other situations requiring an immediate response.

To report an emergency or crime in progress, call 911 immediately. For non-emergency police matters, please contact the City's Police Department through its non-emergency number (864) 984-3531

Social Media Comment Policy

The City of Laurens welcomes your comments on the City's social media platforms. The purpose of these platforms is to present matters of public interest to the residents, businesses, and visitors of Laurens. We encourage the public to follow and engage through submitting comments, questions, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated online discussion.

The City reserves the right to delete submissions that contain vulgar language, personal attacks of any kind, disparaging comments, or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial or religious group.

Further, the City also reserves the right to delete comments that are:

Spam or include links to other sites
Comments that are off topic
Defamatory comments
Advocacy or encouragement of illegal activity
Promote particular services, products, or political organizations
Contain personal identifying information or medical information
Infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property of a third party
Contain nudity in profile pictures
Profane, obscene, violent or pornographic content
Violate any local, state, or federal laws and/or is otherwise unlawful
