The Mayor and City Council strive to serve all members of the community and to provide a quality of life in which our citizens can have a safe, comfortable, clean environment. Our children are our greatest assets and we work to provide them with recreational programs and areas where they can play and strengthen both their minds, as well as their bodies. We are also dedicated to serving our elderly citizens, who are a valuable resource to remind us of our distinguished history.
We are always mindful of the need to encourage our businesses, both old and new, and to work hard to promote our newest business - tourism. With our many state of the art recreational venues, unique restaurants and shops, we are poised to welcome people from nearby communities, as well as visitors from all over the country.
Our Historical Downtown Square area is a beautiful focal point for the essence of our city – “Charming, Beautiful, Quaint, Historic and Welcoming.” We have all the components for Southern Hospitality at its finest. Although our City is growing, we will never lose the “small town” values.
